Waihi Key Chains are now available from the Waihi Visitors/Information
Centre at the top of town across the road from our replica Poppet Head.
Drill engraved with Waihi, NZ on the front and the Poppet Head on the
back (engraved using shading techniques to give the appearance of depth
in the engraving).
Waihi is an historic gold mining town, being mined again today, the open pit (located right in town) has become quite a tourist attraction.
The replica Poppet Head was erected at the top of town towards the end of the year 2000 and dedicated to the memory of those who have made Waihi what it is today, particularly the underground miners of old.
